Has anyone made cased sausage? Worth the trouble?

Hey @Evan B how's the ROI on the pizza oven when you factor your time in the pizza process? Whats the price per lb of fly caught albacore?

Lemme know when your cooking brats, @Josh

Building a beautiful pizza oven, creating great tasting pizzas whenever you want and putting smiles on friends and family -----> priceless!

I often wonder how many takes they have to do to make any scene, that on clip would take me a whole day to get through, LOL
They end up with a pretty solid blooper reel at the end of each season. Talented crew.

So much good info in this thread. I'm still trying to research it all. Watching some youtube videos on the process to understand what I'd be getting myself into if I took @Gary Knowels up on his very kind offer.

Next step is probably seeing if there are any butcher shops in the area who might take a custom order.

Good point on the "not saving money" aspect of this project, very much like tying flies as @Pink Nighty notes. But given the dietary restrictions, this is more like tying a fly that you literally can't buy in any store. So you can't do a straight line price comparison between homemade and store bought. It's more like trying to figure out the difference between commissioning a custom fly tier for a dozen flies vs buying the materials and learning to tie them yourself.

It's worth it. Play with recipes and find something you like before doing the 20 lb batches though. I know I done it before.

Good points...

I like making things, knowing exactly what's in it, and where it came from.

I also like the occasional gas station burrito...
