It was Harry Lemire Day today. Took my 12' Sharpes spliced fly rod, a 4" Hardy and and some Harry Lemire Patterns to a big riffle. A fair amount of sediment in the water.

The Golden Edge Orange looked nice in the sunshine but no steelhead.

Stopped by 5B's for a cinamon roll after fishing.

You sure tie nice flies, Dave.

I’m sorry it didn’t work out for us to get to fish together yesterday, but I sure appreciate the shuttle run and it was good to see you again. One bad thing about not fishing with you was I had no chance to try to bum some more flies off you. The last ones I have from you have been sharpened so much the hook points are getting short. Beautiful fish catchers, they are. Thanks again for the assist. You helped me get rid of a skunk!

I could’ve used this fish as a katana. Long, skinny and bright, it might’ve been starving because it slammed the fly on an aggressive strip. Whammo!

Forgive me for sullying this thread with such a gauche fly, but I merely wanted to acknowledge the kindness done to me by Mr. Westburg—and by his own accord, too—and, given that I, as well, was so fortunate as to be able to experience such a majestic day in Creation, I felt obliged so as to make said allusion.
 
Hard to understand why they wouldn't eat that fly Dave, just looking at that thing makes even me hungry! Easy to understand why you felt compelled to get the cinnamon roll...
