Good deals on some costa sunglasses on Woot.com

Look like Woot.com got a pile of Costa sunglasses. Most appear to be the bright sun lenses. But there are a couple less tinted ones in there as well.

Worth pointing out that Woot is an Amazon company, so not some rando scammer place. Also worth pointing out that they send a lot of marketing emails you'll probably want to opt out of if you order.

Looks like some good stuff.
Another word of caution, born of experience (twice, duh): It's difficult, if not impossible, to know if sunglasses or snow goggles fit your noggin without trying them on.

Sun glasses are just useless if they are not prescription glasses. Plain glass treated are not worth 100 bucks when plastic ones are 20 bucks. I wear Cocoons and they are plastic But not to the tune of 50 bucks.

I was going to add something else but for some odd reason it left the building.

I had cataract surgery today - second eye. I’m anxious to see where my vision will be once stabilized. I’m going to ne bifocals for sure and like a small prescription boost.

@Engee gave me an old pair of Smith Action Optics- non prescription. They are great glasses but without the bifocals.

@Buzzy - does this mean you will be even better at sight fishing? Heaven help the fish if so...

Anyone recommend one of these styles for a man with a giant head like me? I love these glasses (have worn pair that belonged to a friend) but need a decent fit. Also, I am not sure about the lenses; I’d be getting a pair for the PNW sunny months so I don’t really know which is best. Thank you for any insight! I’ve never spent more than $30 dollars on sunglasses….

They have measurements. The CDM site explains what they are. You should be able to just measure a pair that you already have that fit and compare the measurements….

Thread drift here - apologies Josh. Yes, I will be able to see better. For the past month I've had one eye surgically corrected and one eye out of focus, foggy, cloudy....... my presecription glasses were worse than no glasses - six days fising in Alaska with my vision split. Within two hours post second surgery, my distance vision was clear, not foggy, not out of focus. I didn't realize just how impacted my vision was with these damn cataracts. Former cataracts. End thread drift. I will be looking for some good sunglasses.

I did not check to see if either of these are being sold on woot but I wear a 7 3/4 hat and found that the Spearo XL and the Rincon’s fit me very well. Problem; not wrap-around so you get sun in the sides. Positives besides size; It’s probably a more stylish look.

@HauntedByWaters I too have a big head and can vouch for the Rincon. They fit wonderful, but as @jasmillo mentioned they bleed in some light at the edges. They’re my favorite day to day pair with the rose tint and green mirror.

I also have the Diego’s in the Sunrise Silver Mirror glass and love them too. They don’t bleed in light but look a little different because of it. Best lens for the 260 days without sun fishing.

I’d buy glass only, if you can. And second @Chucker , measure those that you have to get an idea of what would work.

Purchasing sunglasses without trying them on is sorta like marrying a virgin.

Rolling the dice.....

They look good, but the fit is all wrong.

So how do you see things better? My eyes don't like the bright sky's. Snow with sun on it makes me squint. When the sun is up and it's cloudy out I still have to wear some sun glasses. I don't wear them to look good. I really need them to keep from squinting.

Jim - within two hours of the surgery (second eye, I guess that means the other eye ;-)) my vision had improved dramatically. I put this surgery off far too long not realizing just how foggy the lenses of my eyes had become. I'm damn close to 20/20 distance now. I wear sunglasses when outdooors. Reading glasses will be my friend.

Thanks for the tip on the website. I usually get glasses from Sierra trading post or Steep and cheap. Just got a new pair of Costas. Don't get the green lenses if you are going to flats fish, you won't see the bonefish. The Blue flash is great for offshore. I got the Sampan glass ones. Huge frame, but I guess that is now in style with all the pro surfers. I liked the old Jose Webe style.

Pat I like Cocoons fit overs.
I wear my prescription tri-focals and have two pair of Cocoons, amber for cloudy low light conditions and brown for bright or direct sunlight.
They are polarized. I even use the amber at night at times to reduce the blinding effect of the super bright headlights so common these days. They cut glare great and I wear the amber when driving in the rain as the rain and spray creates a lot of glare.
I've had cataract surgery in both eyes.

Thanks Fred - I see my eye doc next week but I'm sure he's going to want me to heal for a month before I order glasses. @Engee gave me an old pair of Smith Action Optics glasses with polarized mirror copper lenses. I used them every day in Alaska, even in hard rain.

I had my new eyes checked soon after the lens replacement. I could see better at a distance but I do like my Tri-Focals. My eyes really didn't improve that much. I must of got the bargain brand lens. I also wear the old man's sun glasses, Cocoons.
