I was given this bamboo rod recently and it has no markings on it. It was given to me not by the original owner, and he didn’t know anything about it. No maker marks, no line weight, nothing. It’s in decent condition (I think) other than a bit of tip set (does it even matter?). It’s a 9’ 3 piece, and it’s REAL hefty—maybe ~1/2” in diameter in the butt section.

The wraps need to be varnished or epoxied but that's pretty easy.

FREE! I'm cleaning house and it's just been sitting and I have no desire to epoxy/varnish the wraps, let alone fish it.
Located in Portland, I'm not really interested in shipping.

That thing looks hell for stout, and is probably wall-hanger grade.

I'd say someone needs to take 'er out for tuners....THEN it could be fire starter grade, but MAAAAYBE not....

Someone who lives within a reasonable driving distance for the pickup…hmmm…

I do not have nor like wall hangers. Rods are meant to be fished, so fish it!

If it works ---> its a keeper...
If it breaks ---> no worries about it becoming a wall hanger...

Did I ever tell you about my bamboo trolling rod? I may slap some new guides on it and take it out
