Forget the craft store, the pet store is where it’s at!

Has anyone yet attempted to attach one of the toys permanently to a hook? As someone who once scoured craft and hobby stores in search of new tying materials, I find those cat toys extremely interesting.
 
When tying flies, I keep the scraps of feathers and bits of this and that. When I get enough, I tie up cat toys for our cats. No hook of course. I don't have anything close to a specific pattern or try to imitate anything. Just something colorful that they can chase around and destroy. Their toys are attached to a string on the end of a telescoping rod. kind of like a 3 foot Tenkara rod. I keep saying I'm going to take the cat toy rod with me and fish it one of these days.
 
I’ve wanted to try cat fishing for a while. Just need to dig out a sacrificial beater line and go for it.

It would be fun to test one of those mice out. One of them at the store even had rattles inside it. I’m sure there is a predator that would smash one of those.
