Footwear clogs or boots

My pop kept tripping in his Crocs, so he sent them to me. I gotta say, I'm not a huge fan of the elven look, but they are pretty dang comfy. Don't know if I'd wade a river in them, though.

I've been wearing high topped NRS booties of various models for years....work great...but nothing beats felt soled boots on slimy rocks for traction. Can't imagine wearing clogs in such conditions (such as the Spokane River) would end well.
I’m glad I bought the korkers redesigned removable soles. I actually thought the studded would be best but clearly I was wrong. Felt will be what I wear. I wear an 8.5 wide shoe and bought the 9. I hope I have the room for the waders.

I had to look those up. The rocks don’t hurt the feet?
For rivers around here, those would be hard on the feet.

For wet wading this year (rivers, tiny streams, and then the Kona coast), I went full redneck and converted my retired crocks into felt wading shoes. I was about to toss them when I noticed the bottoms were were almost completely smooth. Then I saw a piece of felt that must have come off furniture in the house was stuck in the arch area. Was nearly impossible to remove. Hmmm.... So I grabbed a couple pads I had in the junk drawer, cut to size, and stuck them on. Still going strong!

I normally wear a 10, but my boots have to be a 13 when I wear my SIMMS waders. Fat wool socks contribute to the need, but it's well worth it, since tightly compressed feet get uncomfortably cold quickly.
