Fly rod storage

I approached it a little differently.

Time to get a matching rod holder. You can never have enough and effective storage at your fingertips.

All are in the garage. 3 or 4 are usually setup and rod & reel cases and in or near the boat or a floating device. The remaining 11 or 12 are in their tubes leaning against the back wall behind my work bench. The idea is they are easy enough to grab, but out of the way and not completely visible to people that might be wandering into my garage for less than good reasons. Not that that has happened a single time, but hey... 😁

I had one fall over completely horizontal to where I couldn't reach it. Had to get creative to pull it out of the abyss. A bucket or trash can would probably be better. Good work @Russell

I'm concerned that Bagman is trying to make some of us less conscientious types look bad. Some of us grew up intuitively knowing that leaning rods is what corners of rooms and garages are for. Plus, there is no upper limit to the number of rods that can be stored this way.

its also a lot harder for the misses (or mr) to count your rods this way as well.

But, with his current approach he could say he's missing 12 rods....I mean, there are 12 empty slots, so intuitively he's 12 short of a 'full set'.
I can see another issue rising in the near future. I give Bagman kudos for planning ahead with the 12 empty slots but that only gives him enough expansion room for one possibly two seasons. I am thinking he better purchase a second rod rack from the same company before they discontinue the model. It also guarantees color match.
This creates a solid 3 to 5 year expansion plan.

I need a new rack for the new house. My garbage can with woven lattice for the short tubes just doesn't look right here. Need a nice wood one. I got eight two piece rod cases are in a milk carton in the back corner of the closet, they are fine and out of the wife's sight there..
