Float Tube Booties

Well I just went through this same ordeal and the "solution" is ok. Not good but ok.

I just bought a pair of Simms G3 waders. Foot size 10-12 as the 9-11s were a little tight on the feet. Then I got a pair of Caddis float tube booties in size 14 (as big as they get). And I can just get my wadered up feet into the booties.

The problem is never the fit on the waders. The problem is never the fit of the booties. The problem is always getting the wader neoprene foot into the booties. They always say go up 2-3 sizes for your booties and I say BS. They still don't make the booties big enough.

Just a 3 minute search, these go up to size 15.
$47.95 Amazon. Buy a couple sizes to try, then send one back. Your search may find large enough for Bigfoot.

Yesterday I did some price research for my boot listing and apparently Seasoft has a big offshore production issue due to Covid and virtually everyone is out of stock. But I found an Amazon seller offering the 3XL Men's 13/14 Seasoft Ti-Stealth boots for $109 shipped. (The smaller, more common diver sizes are $20 more. :p)

The $93 OTD XS Scuba Thug boots I tried on in the dive shop felt comfortable and supportive in socks but that doesn't equate to finning around for a few hours in a tube. I can try the larger Seasoft boots on with my waders and return if they're not comfortable or don't fit my fins. I know they're bulletproof and I won't get cramps in my arch with them.

I don't like paying that much but I pay extra to get comfortable and supportive street shoes with a wide toe box (like clown shoes). I also know how painful inexpensive non-supportive booties are on my feet after a few hours so I'm giving 'em a roll.
(there's two more pair of 3XL available at that seller 😉)
*Amazon screwed up the order, and the seller had no 3XL in stock.

By far the best boots I've used. Used for beach fishing. NRS makes durable goods.

*Amazon screwed up the order, and the Amazon seller had no 3XL in stock; nobody does. I wound up with SEAC Pro HD Boots that a "Best of 2022" SCUBA gear review claims are "most durable" of the high end boots.
The Amazon Seasoft seller helped me with sizing and had them in stock in a 4X so I picked them up from him. They go on pretty easily over my waders and fit well .
The boots rated "most protective" Mares Trilastic do not have the lugged sole

They do not look as robust as the Seasoft boot but those do look very good; lugged sole, raised heel, a sole shim, raised arch, with excellent looking heel, toebox, and instep reinforcement. And unlike the Seasoft, in stock!
The instep strap might be very nice for hike-ins. Have you used them with fins? Any problem with that strap?
Any problems with getting on over stockingfoot waders with neoprene feet because of the shorter looking zipper length?

I see.
I have some dive fins I like using, but can’t fit more than wader stocking feet + neoprene sock over those into the fins. So I’ve struggled with the best approach to hiking in a mile or two with the tube. Wader up and wear boots, but stash the boots? Or Carry those big old heavy things on the tube? Wear light sneakers and carry waders in?
View attachment 14784 Recently I tried this. It was just okay.
I'm in this boat too. Oversized Velcro sandals like chacos worked ok for me

I have only used them for beach fishing. I have hiked along the shore for miles, over oyster beds, barnacled stones, sloppy mud holes, over logs, bush whacking. You get it. Tighten the strap for heavy going. I bought them large and they fit fine over my neoprene wader footies. I'm size 11.5 and bought 13ings. Good fit. 3 solid yrs. now and no problems. Really can't find any complaints. You may be able to order them from REI and return them, even after use if wanted. I will never buy clunky boots again..NRS has free shipping and returns..

Pff has these. I've done lots of tramping in them no issues.

I struggled to get my sz 12 wading boot into my fins so switched to using my kayak booties over my waders. They work great. On sale at rei.
