Not that I was expecting to catch something since it barely qualifies as a "trip".
But, I actually wet a line and hooking a fresh summer run was possible. At least in theory given the desperately needed rain. Also a good excuse to take a break from yard projects.
Water was low enough to cross and explore a bit. Couldnt help thinking 30 years ago on a rainy June day there would've been at least a few ghostly blue/gray torpedoes in this stretch, but nothing today.
What I should've done was taken a trout rod and a box of dries. Swallows were strafing mayflies and I briefly hooked a small cuttie.
Can't complain, it beat digging holes for deck piers.
