Monday was my last summer fishing outing and just about marks a year of fly fishing. I dedicated the summer to small streams east and west of the Cascades and a few high lakes. The MVP of my season goes to the Orvis Superfine Glass 3wt. I’ve been surprised at what this thing can handle. It has a few enemies. A few of those being wind, a big ole streamer, or a 60 foot cast but bearing that it has handled all classes of trout fine. Even handles heavy nymphs under an indicator surprisingly well.

For the most part, I didn’t fish the same water twice except one on the west side. I take Mondays and Tuesdays off so never encountered another person unless I brought someone with. I’m leaving to Greece for some family stuff for the next month then off to Slovenia to hunt marble trout. Hopefully when I return there will be some news on the status of the Sno/Sky/Stilly and I can finally fish those waters. If not, it’s back to SRC in the sound.
