Non-Fly Dirtbag river Coho '24'

I'll have an open seat in my drift boat most every Friday through October for dirtbag coho. My fishing partner moved to Oregon, leaving me solo. Primarily fish the Satsop and Humptulips but open to other rivers. If anyone has Friday's free and wants to float shoot me a message. Trying to save on the shuttle costs.

My favorite fishing season, hands down. I love the anticipation of heading out after a good rain and the first sign of a fresh fish hitting the surface....

I'm actually going to make an effort to put some fish in the freezer this fall and will, for the first time, be tossing gear at coho. We will see how that shakes out.

Love twitching jigs and tossing hootchie spinners for coastal coho...
Just a blast when the fish come cruising in after a good rain, snappy and full of fight.

Beads or eggs under a float on the sf will get you limits. Be there Oct 1! Braxes can work well too, but those do better on the main for me.

I had good luck last year bobber doggin soft beads on a spinning rig. I have been trying to get better with a spoon, and last year we found I was fishing waaaay to shallow. I am ready to go back and go deep!

Already heard of some chromers being seen in the rivers.

Even when I get completely teased by lockjaw coho there are very few things better than breathing in the crisp October air on the river and coming home to watch football.

Get your ass down here and let's do it

This is going to be the year I actually hook one, it's a little embarrassing at this point. Every salt trip this year has landed me a fish, but I've yet to hook a single coho or King in the freshwater in the four years I've been fishing it. Tying up the twitch jigs, saving the eggs from my salt fish, organizing the dick nites, and making a catalog of spots on my two favorite S rivers. I think I came across two spots on the Duc that are sure to be good too, but I know for a fact it will be high level combat fishing just from how well accessed they are.

Man, I would love to catch a bobber coho with a bead on my pin rod. I've never been successful doing it, but I have caught them nymphing glo-bugs for some reason. It was a small creek though.

I've caught LOTS of freshwater coho, and Dick Nites don't make the cut for me. Stick to twitching jigs, spinners, and my personal favorite: Brad's Wigglers ;)

We will see how that shakes out.For our local river, plugs in orange and lipstick red have really been good for me over the years. If you see a fish role fish that hole. If you catch a fish or hook one, continue ishing that hole.

I am hunting and concerting for most of Sept. If you wanna fish in Oct. let me know. I can always get sick if need be. I havea drift bost and 2 watermasters.
