Deep Down and Dirty...

Shad

Life of the Party
But not as dirty as me!

Bought this collection of saltwater jigs at a CCA auction last night. There are a lot of them, so it's hard to show the scale in a single picture. That's why I laid them out on a guitar case. The guy at the bottom is about 14" long and over an inch in diameter, weighing in at a healthy 7 ounces (the rest are 4 or less). These things look like death for lingcod and the like, and the smaller ones might even work for tuna.

As you might have guessed, I won't have much use for something this meaty in the river and lake fisheries that are my usual thing. That said, I thought they were cool (especially the really big ones), and I got a great deal on them. Let's just say the retail value of the three largest jigs is what I paid, and the whole lot is probably worth at least $250. I also got a bunch of killer looking beads in magnum sizes and a cool t-shirt in the package!

I might want to keep a couple of the jigs for fun, but my thinking is that one of you folks with a salt-worthy boat that likes to bottom fish on occasion might get a lot better use out of these jigs than I. With that, a modest proposal:

Take me bottom fishing next spring/summer and you get the lot. Any biters?

Cool looking t shirt!

Loving the kudos I'm getting (I mean, these lures are cool), but where's "That Guy?" You know... the one with the boat that gets this done....
