That's awesome Shawn! And it's a BLESSING for those of us that were praying for you!As I have said before, this website/forum is a great community, even if it is mostly virtual. I have come to know some, met some, and fish with some (hopefully more in the future).
Now the status update, I had my colon surgery to remove the cancer. During the surgery, they found a second cancer in my appendix, so it was removed. Then, the (long) wait for biopsy results. Now, Tuesday was a GREAT and BLESSED day in my life. Met with my oncologist, and I was told I am CANCER FREE!!! I will be on surveillance schedule with CT scans and very specific blood/enzyme tests every 6 month and frequent flyer colonoscopy schedule for the next 3 years.
So, THANK YOU for all of you for positive thoughts and prayers! I also want to say THANK YOU to those that DM'ed me with their stories and the journeys they are on, and encouraging words. They really helped me in those "hard" days!
Lastly and again, I asked, PLEASE schedule a colonoscopy! It can save your life!! It is far easier than the words cancer and the surgery and treatments that could follow.
I will lift up, in prayers and thoughts, those that are still on the journey!
Fish as many days as you can!
