I watched the SC-LSU game last night and it was at least close after Saturday's 60 point wins by the powerhouses playing the patsies. The usual early games of the season involve Monster State taking on Macrame Tech with the average score being about 63-9, Saturday was no exception.

SC abandoned it's usual Matador Defense and played a tough, tight well disciplined game. In the first quarter it looked like LSU was going to shred the Trojans but got cocky down near the goal line and went for it on 4th down and just got stuffed. Many more LSU mistakes ensued right up to the end of the game and confirmed my opinion that Brian Kelly just can't coach. There is no coach I dislike more than that gloomy little maggot and it was wonderful to see him lose yet another opener.

The new SC quarterback looks like the real deal although it will be interesting to see how they fare against the Big Ten Big Boys. The one handed circus catch last night matched anything I have ever seen in the NFL and their receiving team will give other teams fits. Although I am not an SC fan it was good to see a west coast team-any west coast team-excel in a much hyped game. If their defense can play like last night they will win some games they are expected to lose but it is too early to evaluate on the basis of just one game. Remember when the Mariners had a 10 game lead?
 
Okay, so from what I've read, OSU and WSU (the Pac 2) are seriously attempting to recreate The Pac 12 (or some number of at least 8). They have some monies they got from the Pac 12 and are obtaining donations from who knows who in the endeavor but who the devil can get to join their conference ? I guess all college sports conferences started with a few teams and grew but when you only have two teams in your conference it seems like a near impossible task to get others to join.

I will be incredibly impressed if the Cougs and Beavs pull this one off.
 
The PAC2 has until beginning of 2026 season to figure it out (if they can).

I liked the PAC12 a lot. Great teams, a lot of history and great rivalries. I rarely watched any other conferences/teams. MW sometimes...

Maybe with so many teams leaving, they will find out that the 'grass is not always greener' where they ended up.
 
They need a conference and teams to play or the revenue goes away and so will other school programs.
An issue is, not too many people like to watch losing teams unless you're a Mariner's fan.
 
watched both games on youtube live. next Duck game apparently on peacock. We'll see.
