College Football 2024

watched both games on youtube live.
I had a project to do during the Husky game. Afterwards I went to YT, searched for Washington Huskies and got result for East Mich at WA, "LIVE". It turned out to be an AI fantasy game, that didn't have the same scoring midway through the 1st qtr. How lame! B1G channel did have a sub-4 minute highlights video. But bailing on the PAC, and not securing hometown TV rights? Was that an(other) oversight?

BTW, so far a fun Texas Tech @ Cougs game to watch on Fox13. Cougs have scored on 3 (of 4?) turnovers in the first half
Go Cougs! Go PAC2!

Go Cougs! They are looking pretty good for this early in the season.

On a side note: I am missing a lot of games due to contractual dispute between DirecTV and Disney/ESPN including MNF. Bummer...

Edit: WSU continues to show how good they are. Well coached too. Go PAC2!

Yup…I’m in the same predicament with DirecTV…cannot watch the US Open final men’s & women. However, you can watch MNF on ABC

I'm going to take strange enjoyment in looking at the standings page of the "Pac-12" all season. It's just absurdist fun to see only two teams there.

That said, things still don't look great for WSU/OSU as far as conference realignment. They got left out in the cold and don't seem to be able to find a path back in. Which sucks.

I bet a Sports Bar has it on. I go to one if no access at home and am a nonalcoholic drinker. Helps to know the Bar owner, too.

Big game Saturday, and the Powerhouse of the Palouse and defending Pac-2 Champions YOUR WSU COOGERS come to town to take on the dachshunds at Lumen Field.
2 undefeated teams play for the Apple Cup...
A first...

Game deserves it's own thread
;)

Naw, there was a season; I think in the 80s or 90s when the Cougs and Dawgs met as undefeated teams at the Apple Cup. At least that's what I think I remember.
I think you may think that you remember too.

The Pac-whatever lives ! It appears that OSU and WSU pulled it off saving the Pac. 👍
Still some work to do...
"This is expected to be the first phase in a multi-phase expansion to reach, at the very least, eight schools — the NCAA's minimum required to qualify as an FBS conference. If the four MWC schools join, the Pac-12 needs two more to complete the process. The hard deadline to reach the minimum eight is July 2026, the end of the NCAA's two-year grace period. However, the Pac-12 effectively has until summer 2025 to have its conference set for a TV package and other considerations."
Go PAC6+!

Probably be fairly easy to find 2 more teams, especially if the ACC melts down...still about a 50/50 proposition it seems...

Its a nice, feel good move for the PAC 2/12, but regardless of who they add the schools locations other then SDSU will still leave them well behind in media rights. Pullman, Corvallis, Boise etc just don't don't have enough TV sets to pull off a big media rights deal, but networks do need content to fill time slots, like the PAC 12 after dark.
Its also going to cost $111 million if I'm reading things correctly to pull this off. $68 million ($17 million per school) plus $43 million in poaching fees. How much more will it cost to add more teams? If the ACC implodes, Stanford and Cal would seem like a natural fit.
The current MWC TV contract pays each school about $4 million if I recall correctly. Does the Pac 12 conference name or this realignment add that much more value? Seems like voodoo economics to me in the name of conference survival, but college sports is a crazy world right now.

Meanwhile....

The PAC-2 Champions are getting ready to unleash a can of whupass on some small dogs....

😁🤣😁

It would be cool to complete the process with two more universities with “State” in their name.

Someone had asked about TV monies…I believe the PAC-12 had a better package than the MWC; hence, a contributing factor for the those schools to make the move. However, as mentioned, the buy-outs are hefty.

If they did get two more "State" universities, they could call the conference the Pac- State
