PS….congrats to the PAC 2 champions
They are playing really well right now. Ward looks like a completely different QB this year.
Whoever has coached him up has done a excellent job.
Although I'm obligated to "hate the Ducks", I watched enough of the game to satisfy myself that Colorado was gonna' get whupped. I hate that the Husky game didn't start until 7:30. I must have slept through most of the 4th quarter. Cal was still at 12 points last I remember; then I woke up to see they scored an additional 20 while the Dawgs scored only (ONLY) 7 more. Go Huskys!
I always like my team to win, but I don't really care for blow outs. They're not good for either team. Like my grandson's soccer team won 10 - 0 yesterday. They weren't challenged; they didn't learn how to play better. Until their coach told them they could not score any more goals, so they either kicked the ball out of bounds, or played "keep away" the final 10 minutes of their match, which allowed them to work on their passing.

UW's second and third string defense need a little work, DeBoer took a knee at 52-12 and got the backups alot of good reps. This offense is insane. The Defense will be tested this year, but can hold their own when they need to. UW could have hung 80 on Cal
I can only imagine Salmo's disappointment and frustration when the coach told his Grandsons team to stop scoring.... I think Salmo has a future in coaching

I played on a football team in high school where the coach had us tackle our own guys

Everyone was talented
No, I wasn't disappointed nor frustrated. I appreciate the coach's creativity. In the county youth soccer recreational league they try to avoid gaps of more than 5 goals. I think that's a good idea. I think the kids grow and develop best when playing competitively against teams of similar to somewhat better skilled players. So I think DeBoer did the right thing in putting the bench warmers on the field. They'll learn more from that experience than from playing each other in team practice.
And Salmo has no future in coaching. It takes a ton of energy that I don't have to deal with those kids. I have the greatest respect for most of the coaches; they are training the kids to become their best selves. Then there are a couple coaches who never became their best selves, so they lack the capacity to bring out the best in the kids on their teams, which is unfortunate. I relish my role as the grandparent who doesn't bring a folding chair to the soccer matches because I'm running up and down the field shouting words of encouragement to the players on both teams, well, mostly my grandson's team.
Fortunately the Seahawks game begins around 1:00, so I should be able to stay awake for all of it. Sorry for all the thread drift.
Smile when you say that. My favorite line before the game was "The cinderella story is over. There are now 4 pac 12 teams in the top ten.. Some exciting games coming up. What a year!
Well, I certainly think the better team won the Pac 2 championship... still, it was a good game to watch. Good for the Cougs.
(I think the Pac 12 logo turned into the Pac 2 by fans in the stands was quite amusing. ..... I still have to wonder what the devil will happen to WSU and OSU .... )

I check in and lurk every once in awhile. Spend more time hashing it out with lawyers and such in an over 2-year divorce than I do floating or watching the Pac-whatever anymore. Maybe that'll change someday.
Looks like things are status quo over here. Good to see most of the old crew still hanging around and having fun!
