...the east side of Fort Lewis is now all gone
No, JBLM in reality means the size of Fort Lewis has expanded since 1947 back to its 1938 footprint to re-include McChord Field and Air Force air operations under Army NETCOM, with an Air Force Deputy Commander. ( :( )

Oh yeah, Go Falcons ;)

That game is always one of my favorites of the year and yesterday did not disappoint! It’s the only game left in which two teams run the exact same old school offenses.

I always thought it was ironic that military tactics have evolved so much but the academy schools are still lining up on the gridiron like the colonials did way back when. I love it!

I think it has a lot to do with the type of athletes they get and who they have to compete against

Mike Leach was one entertaining guy. Underline that one with exclamation points after. I have read plenty of negative things about him over the years to mix in with the good and the quirky, but I think he was fun for sports. A pencil-armed guy who never played college football, yet led locker rooms full of monsterously athletic kids. He looked far more a real pirate than Keith Richards did in make up.

Leach was a trip. Condescending. Contrarian. Smart. Funny. Innovator. Special coach. And, I liked it when he lost !

I had a habit of looking him up to see what he had done next, and watching his interviews and chuckling at his oddball ways.

Going to miss that one of a kind crayon. He was no standard unit. Oddly, enjoyed when he lost games but feel terrible he his gone.

R.I.P. coach Mike Leach.

Looking forward to the LA Bowl, Cougs/Bulldogs matchup is a good one. For those of you who haven’t seen Fresno QB Jake Haener play, do yourself a favor. He’s the quintessential undersized/over performing QB. Defense held Boise State to 10 points in the MW championship game. They are a well balanced team that the Cougars better not overlook.

Jake Haener was at Washington a few years ago. He left because of all the QB's that were there. He felt that he was to far down the list to get any playing time. So he went to Fresno State. He excelled there.

He wasn't far down the list. Many thought he outplayed Jacob Eason and should have been named starter. When Petersen selected Eason has the starter Haener was in the transfer portal the next day or two. I think there is a story behind this but it is kept in tight circles.

Beavs are looking good, but why are they playing a 6-6 Florida; a win won't help them much in their ranking. You would think whoever sends out the invites could have found a better matchup, or does it demonstrate the low esteem with which the Pac 12 is regarded.

Cheers

Because the PAC-12 had several teams with good records and unfortunately they have assigned bowl games and that is where the Beavers fell. UW at 11-2 playing in the Alamo Bowl, if USC beats Utah in PAC 12 championship then UW gets Rose Bowl.

Not much to say about the Cougar game today except, why was a bowl named after a talk show host?

Regarding the Huard comment...do you mean might he be upset because their starter is staying another year?
