My favorite memories for a tree involve Simpson timberland, an International flatbed, being dropped off to wander into the woods, pick out and down "our" tree. Then have the flatbed show back up for the trip back to "the cabin".

Good memories to have.

Can you edit the poll and add “none” as an option? I’d like to vote….. 😂
SF

I voted reel, but haven't had a tree in 12 yrs, nor have I had to put up exterior lights or any decorations at all.

Its real easy when I dont have any of those things! 😁

I wish we could have a real tree. My daughter is allergic to them so we have 'permanently natural' ones...

Real, always real. Mom wanted a nicely shaped one so we hiked out and cut one at Dewitt's. We always got USFS tree permits when the boys were little, probably back to that next year.

Your daughter is allergic to evergreen trees... in Western WA?? Yikes!
I'm allergic to the pollen, but have never had an issue with a xmas tree
You are correct. It is the pollen on the trees. We tried to wash it off. Did not work unfortunately.

I drove up to the mountains on a cold ass rainy day, drove up up up gravel roads to a patch of noble firs, hiked down a cliff to where a couple young trees were growing right on top of each other, cut one down, scattered some native seeds for pollinators, hauled the thing up the cliff, tied it down on top of the SUV, and drove it back home to my appreciative family who did not want to spend their day doing that.

@Shawn Seeger - If I were to cast my vote for "none" one could say "Buzzy is just like Ebaneezer Stondedfish", right? (Just kidding Brian). No tree back home since we aren't home for a bit. Fake tree at our daughters and fake tree in the grandkids room. Growing up it was always a fir tree harvested from the hills between Sequim and Port Angeles.

Small, clear, non-blinking and LOTS of then. I put a dimmer on them too...

We cut down silver tip/ red fir and prefer the large bulb incandescent colored lights. Wish they made leds in those opaque old school incandescent colors. The clear blue and magenta leds are a problem for me. That said this year we cut a white fir and it has white lights
