The girl and I headed out Friday to attend day 2 of the Fairwell Festival in Redmond. She got to see and meet her favorite singer/crush, Waylon Wyatt, and I tolerated both the crowd and the music. I even enjoyed some of it! Win-win!
We camped the first two nights on the crooked river. We didn’t fish it very heavily as the festival was the main goal. The girl managed a nice rainbow, and I got to see a rattlesnake which I was much more excited about than she was …..

KITTY!!!
We headed out to East Lake on Sunday and stayed until Tuesday morning. It was really discouraging. The water level is lower than I’ve ever seen it. Why is this? I’ve heard the fissure between East and Paulina grew and East is draining in to Paulina faster, but I’m not sure how true it was.
Part of the East problem was probably the weather, but neither of us managed a trout. The girl managed to catch the biggest chub however, so she had bragging rights there. I love East lake, but I just can’t get over how different it was, and how poorly it fished.
Diamond Lake was better. We didn’t hit it super hard because we spent Wednesday at Crater Lake, but I managed to get in to a few good fish, therefore, @mcswny , out fishing the daughter! We both got in to some fish at Crater Lake though, that was really fun
All in all, great trip, mediocre fishing!
