It is not a waste of money. i will do it again maybe next year. It is a process to expose grandkids to. And talk about. We are caretakers of this earth and we should do what we can to maintain diversity and engage in the world around us, gifting and sharing as well as our usual taking.
 
My oldest daughter has a high altitude farm in CO. All kinds of wild animals visit their 7.5 acre farm at 8600’. They have 3 grand Pyranese dogs and others goats and a bizillion laying hens and other fowl. She just sent me a shot of her “outdoor kitty” which takes treats by hand from her. Awesome! Melanistic fox (can be called a "Black Fox" or Silver Fox") represent no more than 1% of the the entire Red Fox population across the United States. I have seen Cross Fox and (1) albino Red Fox variations but never a Black/Silver. Your Daughter is very fortunate indeed.
 
Jim F. My daughter had a hard decision to make early this year on whether to help this fox with treating mange that the fox had. She eventually did. And Lana told me she had a hard time discerning whether to not interfere …
