Warning: Crappy photograph below. A couple weeks ago a great horned owl seemed to move into our next door neighbor's overgrown spruce tree. I've stared at this tree from all different angles trying to spot the bird, narrowing down where I think he (she?) is roosting by listening to it hoot. I haven't been able to spot the bird until this morning. I could hear the bird hooting from the bedroom but the sound seemed to come from a different direction.



Like I said, crappy photo. I watched bird twist and hoot in many different directions then fly off down the utility easement. How cool!

My daughters in Alaska the youngest on the right met her sis there for an annual meeting where she is the director of a Koniag educational Foundation( volunteer) she was a warded a large Koniag scholarship just like her mom did the first recipient in 1974. Very proud of my girls,40 and 44

I used to visit the cemetery often, many years ago when he had a regular gravesite and standard flat headstone. I saw his Memorial once after it first opened. I need to stop by sometime in the near future and revisit the Memorial.
