So, according to your logic, it's OK to be hypocritical unless you're a climate activist. The difference is that he’s not a hypocritical climate activist…

" If I had that kind of money, I'd do the same". You don't find this statement hypocritical. The end.The fact you don't understand the crux of the point makes it difficult to have anything more than a comedic conversation. Then again, I'm always happy to meet you at your level for laughs.

If you looking for someone to trade ad hominem, condescending, remarks under the guise of a debate with substance, then find someone else to irritate. Such back and forth BS is a waste of forum space and will likely get the Mods to react.
When this site was first created, I was amazed and hopeful. Seeing the restraint that the usual participants in this type of, dare I say it, trolling, on the previous forum were able to maintain. Alas, it seems those days of restraint are behind us, conversations need to be about fluff or blood pressures and rhetoric will rise.
I do find the humorous contributions of Dustin Chromers hilarious, and kind of thought provoking.
I have certainly been biting my tongue, for the greater good! No, just pointing out the one lady is holding the leaf blower funny. Sort of a joke that did not land.
Probably right about 1 and 2. Hope you are wrong about 3 and 4.A smart guy with some money would be buying up used cars. In 2035 they'll be worth a fortune at least in California.
It's my GUESS that banning the sale of new gas cars will have the following affects.
1. Used car prices will sky rocket hurting the poor and middle class.
2. Parts for cars will be extremely hard to find.
3. No appreciable slowing in the rate of climate change
4. Apathy towards climate change.
Probably right about those as wellProbably right about 1 and 2. Hope you are wrong about 3 and 4.
Another possibility is car manufacturers telling California to go to hell and stop selling cars in California. Not likely but possible.Probably right about 1 and 2. Hope you are wrong about 3 and 4.
Especially not likely since virtually all of them are going down the EV path anyway. Electric cars are coming whether there is a regulation or not. I hope and believe that by the time all these mandates kick in the technology will be mature enough that people are going to want them anyway. I think about the things that have changed in the time I've been on this planet, and I'm blown away by the amazing creativity of our species. There are some other traits of our species that blow me away too, and not in a positive way. When we work together, there is nothing we can't do.Another possibility is car manufacturers telling California to go to hell and stop selling cars in California. Not likely but possible.
Why would they do that, by then they will have mostly all switched over anyways. All as in all automobile manufacturers.Another possibility is car manufacturers telling California to go to hell and stop selling cars in California. Not likely but possible.
Dude is a poserAnd our anti carbon appointee John Karey is flying around to numerous countries convincing them of the evils of CO2 in the atmosphere and global warming. Like his Gulf stream is fuel efficient and he can't do the same thing on a computer. Well maybe with the exception of Thailand and their specialty young women workers and the Netherlands and their liberal drug laws and bordellos..
And remember John was "wounded" by a grain of rice and receive a purple heart.
