Canadian retailers

I went to a Canadian flyfishing retailer looking for some stuff. I saw this notice:

“As of August 29, 2025, U.S. Customs has imposed tariffs of up to 35% on all products not made in the United States, depending on the country of origin. Any applicable tariff costs will be added to any U.S.-bound orders”

I haven’t been online shopping for a while, so this was the first of these I’ve seen.

FYI

How does the US $ affect the price? 1 US $ is worth 40% more than the Canadian $.

I would assume unless the retailer manufactures it in-house their cost is reflective of makers total overhead+profit adjusted for retailer’s home $ + profit, then retailer adds his profit, then the tariff out bound to the US.+ shipping etc.
Expect to pay more. Yup, it sucks.
