Yah - we weren't prepared to keep any that evening, and also, there's a decent chance that lake could give up a state record one day based on that school, so we didn't want to take those ones!
The next day's school was a slightly smaller class, so no doubt they'll be frying up some of those 12-13"ers!

Lol - close! That evening I was in a tiny boat with my sister & BIL, so stuck to the ultralite spinning rods. White roadrunner jig and curly tails were the ticket.
Next day I got this 16"er from a kayak, on my favorite wiggle bug, though:
