Buggie’s first fly rod…..

Digging around in my garage I found an old two piece bright yellow fiberglass rod…..our granddaughter Buggie’s favorite color is yellow (at least right now….) ;) So I cut the butt section way down, 5’10” 4/5 wt. I had fun buzzing a cork grip down to her little hand size, I let her hold it to see if it fit….all she wanted to do was try to break it in half! :eek:Then I cut down a maple reelseat and bought a Martin 63 tuna can to hold the line. This rod should hold up to beating weeds, splashing the water and whatever else while and if the fish aren’t biting!(y) Bumble Bee theme……

That's awesome! Now get her some kiddie waders and take her to yellowstone national park. PM me to know exactly where to go for eager 4-6" brookies on every cast with water only a foot deep and slow current perfect for little kids. My kid was 1st on the water there at 3y/o and every year after for 15 years. Great memories fishing all over the park.

Man, that is such an adorable picture.
I agree, making a custom rod for Willow would be a very good thing.
Taking her fishing with Poppa Tom would be A Ok with this old guy.
