Not to pick on my bro as we've all fucked up.
But a few weeks ago we were out for a float and I noticed his oar locks had widened to the point the oars could pop out. I mentioned that he should heat 'em up and bend 'em back as that could be a problem. I'm not sure he though much about it.
Fast forward to the next week, he was out for a solo float on the lower river and.....you guessed it. He lost an oar, didn't have a spare, and had to "paddle" his drift boat out at dark using just one.
He showed up the other day with two snazzy new Sawyer's and had fixed his oar locks.
Guess sometimes the best lessons are learned the hard way.

Yeah...it was indeed a valiant and successful boat rescue! It reminded me of the web cam bear pics from Brooks Falls in Alaska. A magnificent beast hunting its prey.I'd make more fun of the guy, but that feels like the kind of mistake I'd make myself at leastoncetwice.
