Most people I've talked to, or overheard, think that the river otters they see in the water, on floats, boats, or beaches along our coast are "sea otters", just because they're in the sea. As Adamcu280 wrote, sea otters very rarely leave the ocean. And they mostly live in exposed outer shores, away from civilization.

Can concur.

I once personally was involved in a bonafide wild Otter Rodeo in the dark and dank recesses of a crawl space in a PS cabin we once owned. Coming face to face with that critter will never be forgotten by me.

Finally won the battle and had to sink wire mesh fencing around the entire perimeter of the foundation to keep the critter out. Yeah, they really stink! And yeah, it was a river otter.
 
Otter poop stinks...a lot...of that I am absolutely sure. Keeping them out of a structure near water is certainly a challenge.

Otter than that, probably just otter move on from this one...

Canada is a hoax perpetuated by Big Otter in order to pursue their radical anti Urchin agenda. Think about it: Do you know anyone from Canada? How do you know all the "Canadians" you know aren't Americans changing their accent a little bit to perpetuate the lie? Many of you claim to have "fished in BC" but how do you know that BC isn't just a hoax set up by Washington and Alaska using Big Otter donated funds?

Yep, it's true.

When I encounter sea otters in the wild I always shoot paper. It confuses them. Works like a ninja's smoke bomb. You can make a hasty retreat while the otter is distracted.

Throw scissors and you're going to get your ass kicked and end up looking like the lady in Montana.
 
Post # 135 eloquently illustrates my point that millions of dollars are spent every year to "disinform". They are so cute. But Sea Otters have been proven, over and over again, to completely annihilate the reefs when, and where, they are reintroduced. Cute cartoons such is seen in post #135 are extremely expensive to produce..... humble fisherman that actually know the truth of the potential (and inevitable) destruction do no stand a chance against this "Big Otter Machine", that make silly cartoons, that clearly are produced to hide their lies.

Where in those cartoons do they show Sea Otters killing female otters and juvenile seals and raping their dead bodies for several days? Where in those cartoons do they show the complete annihilation of every crab, lobster, clam, muscle, sea urchin, sea cucumber and any other fish that they can eat? I'll tell you where in those cute cartoons these are shown... nowhere. They are produced solely for the sake of expanding "funding", AKA tons of money for paid liars.
 
Sea Otters are incredible creatures. They have the densest fur of any animal on Earth. I million hairs per square inch. ( Humans have 700 hairs per square inch.) That being said, they have the potential to do massive harm to the North American west coast in these modern times. Unfortunately, they also generate massive amounts of revenue ( see post #135) and are a tool used to yield incredible political influence. I say this as a precautionary tale.... nothing more.
 
Where do Big Squid, Big Shorebird, Big Blubber, and Big Intertidal fit into the conspiracy? The rest of the songs on the album are about other aspects of marine life in AK. There’s even a song about fishing. I can assure you that the songwriters are not laughing all the way to the bank.

 
When the narrative changed to "Sea Otters are actually beneficial to the health of a kelp bed"....most fisherman simple stated "You have to be joking", but they were not joking. They were paid biologist lying through their teeth for grant money..... Arial photos of the kelp beds off Southern California from the 1940s, show massive kelp beds, where Sea Urchins had never been harvested and Sea Otters had not been present for over a hundred years. This is the kind of information that is never seen by interested parties. Now.. they DO see cute cartoons ( post #135) and send money to the "Friends of the Sea Otter"... Good intentions , but falsely informed. It is quite sad.
 
…and the “Wheels on the Bus Go Round n Round”…these are the “Days of Our Lives”…”As the World Turns”…”All My Children” are in trouble for sure.

Post 121 prives all you posts to be B/S, only thing Otters do is get in the way of greedy comercial fisheries that fucked up the ecosystem.
The Ottes didnt do it, despite your opinion, considering you cant proved any data to support your claims.
