Boulder, CO Labor Day Weekend

Kado

Steelhead
Wife and I are slowly searching out areas that would interest interest both of us (she has absolutely no interest in any fishing or camping). She suggested Boulder....so to Boulder we go.
I'm wondering if a guide is worth hiring for a first visit. Boulder Creek seems like a good start....I expect large holiday crowds...but looks beautiful and great access. When we go on mini vacations, if I can just get a couple hours a day fishing, that would be perfect. Most college towns are a buttload of fun.
My wife is vegan, so if any recommendations in that regard...also appreciated.
Seems like a 3 wt or 4 wt bamboo rod would be perfect for the area.

I don’t know that stream in particular but I think most trout fishing in Colorado is really pretty straightforward. They’re trout. Sounds like a fun trip if you stay somewhere good.
