Quick and relatively easy way to stay hydrated while on the river or lake. Not so great for backwoods where there isn't always a source of water since the capacity isn't that great, but for fishing in freshwater it's fantastic.

PS, they don't work well with salt water....

Do you have a favorite boil in bag rice ? I've tried several and they were all nasty tasting...either a plasticy taste, a gooey consistency, a bad smell or a combination of several of these faults. And these were supposedly" name" brands

I just use Uncle Ben’s. I eat that meal like 3 times a year from a Jet Boil so I am not worried about plastics. The Indian food should cover up bad the taste of the rice.

My priority while fishing and on a fishing trip is to fish so my culinary standards are extremely low. I get a kick out of the have it fancy in the woods crowd. I am just happy to have a day I am not working or taking care of family to fish so I’m fishing hard and not concerned with much else.

I am more of a survive and learn to live with less kind of outdoorsman.
