Okay lets go! I'm home again today.. up early, as usual.. and this time of year the fishing is slow.. so..

What is the BEST Christmas movie ever? Obviously I know the answer.. LOL

I recently watched The Holiday with Jack Black, Kate Winslet, Jude Law. It was better than I remember. But I would probably put Christmas Vacation and It’s a Wonderful Life tied for first.

i have never seen White Christmas In its entirety.

Say it wasn't so. 🤫 This is my wife's all time favorite Christmas movie (but even she heard/read he wasn't the best dad in the world)

The annual must see in my household are:
-White Christmas,
-Miracle on 34th Street with Maureen O'Hara
-It's a Wonderful Life (my all time fave)
-A Christmas Carol with George C. Scott
-Elf
and don't forget Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown.

I see a theme here! Walking Dead a Christmas themed movie.. haha!! All I got for Christmas was a hammer! Billy got the axe!!

The Ref is a sleeper. 90’s Dennis Leary at his funniest and most annoyed. It has nothing to do with sports. He kidnaps a very dysfunctional wealthy couple after nearly getting caught burglarizing a house in their town. The whole movie is him “ref’ing” the couple whose constant bickering as well as their family that comes over to their house for Xmas dinner drives him completely bonkers and into classic, manic, blow his his top Dennis Leary hilarity.

Forgot about that movie, that is a good one. Networks seem to be shy about playing anything with Kevin Spacey in it lately?
 
I used to watch It's a Wonderful Life with my grandmother, Christine every year! On VHS! Still have the tape...

Although the movie I remember watching with her the most was The Lion King.. she loved the music from it! Particularily Hakuna Matata!

She passed years ago, but I think I'll watch both before the end of the year! Cheers!
 
I showed my oldest son (10 years old) Christmas Vacation about two weeks ago and it's his new favorite movie. He's watched it every day. Some days twice.
His previous favorite was Home Alone, which we all watch as a family on Thanksgiving to kick off the Christmas Season.

My wife and I have a rotation. We save the last few for the week of Christmas:

The answer to the question (which one is the best) is: it depends. I'm partial to Home Alone or Christmas Vacation, but I'm not arguing with anyone who says the best is It's a Wonderful Life or Christmas Carol or A Christmas Story. I find the closer it gets to Christmas the more I favor the older classic Christmas movies.
 
Family favorite here is Christmas Vacation. At least 100 lines we can all recite, and do occasionally throughout the year. A must watch beginning to end when we’re all together.
I personally enjoy the Die Hards too, but typically alone, or with Jack :).
 
Christmas Carol with Alistair Simm and Christmas Vacation - only 2 I could watch more than once.
