Baseball 2025

If the weather holds today I might miss the first 1-1.5 hours going fishing. Just a touch of rain yesterday should get a few fish moving if it doesn't pour again. Catching steelhead is almost as rare as the M's going to the playoffs, and frankly, even though I talk the talk ("It's just baseball") not sure my nerves can take it.

Whoever wins it will have a tough assignment with the Dodgers. They are rested, focused and have been there before and are not intimidated by the big stage. They had the most come from behind wins in baseball this year and are just damned hard to beat when the chips are down. But after seeing the mighty Brewers fold like wet toilet paper during the LCS I guess anything is possible. I have seen the Dodgers go into a funk at times when their best hitters couldn't hit a beach ball into the ocean at high tide. It ain;t over till it's over....

You just can't beat a good team when you commit 3 errors, run the bases poorly and end 3 innings on a double play with runners in scoring position. It's actually surprising the game was as close as it was.

The best teams in baseball have stretches where they play like the worst, and the worst have stretches where they play like the best. It's like fishing: it's not where you fish, it's when you fish where you fish vs. it's not who you play, it's when you play who you play.

is this true? if so, let's go M's!

No dog in the hunt but I am pulling for the Mariners! Can't stand the Blow Jays. But in the end I just don't see anybody beating the Dodgers. Their starting pitching in the playoffs has been insanely good and they have the best player in the history of the game., Best team money can buy.

Best team money can buy.

Seems to be the American way.

Historically, when one league championship series goes 7 and the other a sweep, the team that won the 7 game series won it all...

4 times, this makes 5...
Small sample size.
😁

Most encouraging stat I heard last night:

Home teams are just 30-29 all time in game 7s. Not much of a home field advantage historically.

Kids will be over for the game and dinner. Love having them so close. Mom's ready too. She'd have enjoyed this. She always liked Dan Wilson. Go M's.

I guess nobody's going to post until it's over?

I'd like to see them pick up another run or two off Bieber, because Gausman, who has pretty much been nails, is probably up next.

This home plate ump must want to see lots of scoring, because he's not giving the pitchers anything close.

Rivas is not up to the pressure tonight, as evidenced by his two, frankly bad, strikeouts with RISP. Put him on the bench ASAP.

Bieber is kind of a whiney bitch. He whined loud enough to convince the umps to call Naylor out for getting beaned in the back of the head, but if he didn't get pulled a second ago, the home plate ump was about to toss him. Rightly so....
