Baseball 2025

Apparently the M's have reached an agreement to bring a very popular 3rd baseman back to Seattle pending a medical assessment. Welcome home Geno. πŸ₯³
Geno and the Dumper, yuse guys have a solid line-up - Good luck (until you meet the Royals, that is).

Go Royals

<Warning, grumpy old man content>
He probably would have hit one solo home run last night to tie the game so they could lose in extra-innings.
<End Warning>
Good solid move; no breathers for pitchers in the top of that lineup. But I sure would like to see the M's get more traffic and raise their average with RISP.

I really don't wanna lose Kwan today.

Carlos Correa returns to the Houston Astros.

Pretty neat story from the Mariners flight home on Wednesday. All players and staff were on board and ready to take off when there was a delay unexplained to anyone on the plane. Finally after over 30 minutes of going nowhere there was a commotion at the back of the plane as Geno and his family joined his new team for the flight back to Seattle. Takeoff was further delayed while Geno walked the entire aisle of the 737 and gave a big hug to everyone on board. As he said in his first interview after news of the trade was released, "I am so happy." Those are the moments that I love about grown men playing a kids game. I mean how much fun was that for all involved.

Some great baseball today. The royals pull it out in extra innings and the M's close out a 1 run lead in the top of the 9th. I like Sam Haggerty, but I'm glad he lost that steal replay.

Blue Jays and royals locking horns in a good game today..

Big win for those Royals - after a dismal June (8-18), they are 17-10 since, right back in the playoff hunt!!

Go Royals

M's now have the team to possibly catch Houston, should they stumble at all - not sure how many games they have left against the Astros, but if they have any, they will be YUUUUGE. By the way, I hate the "balanced" schedule - might be playing an NL team in September instead of a divisional rival - might as well get rid of the separate leagues altogether now, it's terrible!!

Edit: Just checked the standings, M's only 2.5 back, 'Stros don't need to stumble much, the M's can catch them by just going the way they're going. Good luck M's

Go Royals!!!

AL wild-card race is like a day to day thing right now. Yankees drop to #3 and M's take #2. But that could flip back if the M's don't handle the Sox today. @Canuck from Kansas see what you can do about having those amazing Royals take one away from the red Sox today will ya?

Meanwhile the 'stros are down by 3 to the Marlins; they lose and M's win (knocking on wood as I type) and the gap for AL West lead narrows to 2 games.

It is so nice to watch the Mariners daily now. Exciting, wondering, watching stats is all a part of it.

So much better than (dare I say it?) than politics...

Not a lot for holes in this lineup in this right now. Especially with Naylor and Geno joining the fray.
