Good for the Rangers and obviously another reason they finished ahead of the Mariners.

NoCan we combine Bobbleheads and Fireworks, then compare them as a percentage of payroll, or divide by wins to get a more accurate view ?
Mariners about 54% I assume ?

Kind of makes the regular season irrelevant, doesn’t it?As disappointing as the conclusion was I readily admit that I thoroughly enjoyed watching or listening to a bunch of those guys playing baseball. Ultimately that is the metric I choose when looking back at the season. There were some really fun moments and memorable games. And I look forward to next year and hope that the near success that the team enjoyed and its reflection on attendance encourages the powers that be to staff the M's in a manner that will enable them to be even more competitive and still retain the core players. And it should be noted that the 3 teams who won 100 or more games are now cleaning out their lockers just as the M's had to. And the WS winner will have won at most 2 games more than the M's and potentially 4 fewer.
I'm rooting for that....at least in the ALCS (maybe not the WS since I think the Rangers would have home field).Hah! Rangers have the As(sholes)tros right where they want them. If they win two, it means two teams will have gone a seven game series with the hometown fans having not witnessed a win and by extension, of my posting above, will have seen only one win out of nine on the way to the WS.![]()
That dinger Altuve lost might have had something to do with it but I'm sure Astro fans would have liked to have seen it when he had two on earlier. And that Chapman pitch that caught the batter in the back of his thigh is going to hurt until next year. I got a good laugh when the announcer said, incredulously, "He can stand up?"Texas can put up crooked numbers fast when they're clicking; 19 runs in 2 games. I always wince a bit when Chapman pitches leverage situations, but he tends to find a way. Don't understand LeClerc pitching around the strike zone and walking batters in the bottom of the 9th with a 7 run lead... but nobody's asking me to manage their pitching staff.
