More Deer Antics. The doe with twin fawns
finally paused long enough near my office window for me to take a few nice pictures of their activities.
The fawns paused their “zoomies” long enough to do some grazing
and some nursing.
All this activity occurred even though my neighbor had a logger in to take down a dozen or so 80+' tall Douglas firs. The neighbor was concerned that several trees that were close to his house had lost crowns recently and might have rot. He was also concerned that the trees were growing asymmetrically. I certainly enjoyed watching the skill of this logger in the air
and in maneuvering the debris and logs with just a small backhoe.
The doe with twin fawns and the other doe with her single fawn were surprisingly unconcerned by the noise and bustle of the logging activity. I think that they might have been attracted to some lichens typically found high in the canopy and by a few deciduous trees with delicious leaves that were knocked down.
The bigger bucks do not typically dawdle while crossing my property, typically heading toward the upland areas and the sound in the morning. While I rarely capture their return to the cover of the stream below my house, it does happen on occasion. This big buck crossed by the backyard
and even paused for a siesta and a light snack under my neighbors trees in my front yard.

On my morning walk through the middle of Tacoma with my dog, who is nearly the same size as this young buck.
That is a first for me, never seen one squat ...
Pardon the redundant subject after my recent post, but after I cleaned out my small camera trapping pond on Wednesday, the bear returned within an hour of my departure for another bath. I still haven't set up the real camera and flashes for nocturnal visitors, but I think the daytime bear will be my highlight visitor of the summer. It's a 3 minute video, but somewhat humorous if anyone is bored enough to watch. Again I think you have to hit the link and the "play" button to start the video.

Now that he's found his own private bath, I think he's going to be a frequent visitor.
