NFR AWD not for fishing

Non-fishing related
Drifting is the slowest way to drive fast.. anytime you lose traction you go slow..

It is fun, though. Should we all trade in our fly rods for gill nets?

Subaru and AWD is cool but not for the pavement. So why have a car incapable of getting off of it?

AWD makes it possible to put down more power and not lose traction, because the power is distributed over 4 wheels instead of 2. I believe most new "hypercars" are AWD, for that reason.

Grew up in a racing family and love all sorts of cars, trucks and bikes. Where racing is concerned, the street is for those who can't cut it on the track.
I always thought the same thing: Racing is awesome, which is why we have areas specifically designated for people to race.

In my fantasy world, when I retire early with my millions of dollars, I'm going to get in to rally and/or rally cross.

Back in the 1990‘s I spent nearly a year working in Ferrari‘s North American headquarters, located in Englewood Cliffs, NJ, just across the river from NYC. Every Ferrari that came into the country came through the service department there before being shipped on to the dealers across the US and Canada.

One of the mechanics there had to drive these cars down the street to get gas in the car at a nearby gas station.
I remember one day when a mechanic told me how he had to back an F50 up to the gas pump because he’d hit the spoiler if he went up to the pump going forward. What a nuisance when you’re driving a $500,000+ car!

The F50 was street legal, but I’m not sure how many of them were actually driven on the highway. I do recall one day when I was at the Houston, TX dealership when a local doctor came in driving his F50, which they said was his daily “commuter”! (I understand those cars can sell for around $3 million these days - I sure wouldn’t want to drive one to go fishing...where to stash your Spey rod and waders?…but I once saw a fly fisherman in a cheaper model Ferrari on the Beaverkill River near Roscoe, NY.)

Roper -
"bagged" - that went right over my head.

Are you photoshopping these or what?
Nah. He's got an instagram handle sticker on his window - I checked out his instagram page. Mostly just pictures of the ride in various places (most look like eastern wa).

Nothing wrong with someone taking pride in their "ride". So far all the pictures of these vehicles are of those that have owners that appear to take care of there stuff. Vs, some dude who put's a spoiler on something that does not need a spoiler, and the kid did not install their front bumper on correctly and you can literally see body panels fluttering on the interstate.
These are legit cars just not what you are into.
I am sure there is a group out there that frowns on our gas guzzler fishing rigs.

For years I used our '01 Outback wagon to get to some fishing spots where the Subaru's AWD was very helpful, rarely was ground clearance an issue. I have to wonder about this car's AWD system with maybe an inch of ground clearance (unless I'm missing something) - speedbump avoidance? Changes in grade? Driveways? What the heck?

Does all that "stuff" on the bottom keep the car on the ground? Just for show?
They think that they are customizing it. They probably only take it out on nice days. You can see that he didn't park close to the curb. Plus they put those skinny tires on the car because it looks cool. The ride in that car is probably a rough one,

All racing should be done in a straight line and last about 1/4 mile.

Decal in the rear passenger window says it’s bagged. The splayed stance on the other car is the stupidest thing ever…

One of my friends had a bagged WRX. If it had any more "stance" and "poke", it wouldn't fit on the road. He got pulled over, by the police, and they said it was the most illegal car they had ever seen. They completely destroyed the suspension, on purpose, when they impounded it.

Rob, I am shocked at your lack of patriotism; racing should be done mostly in a straight line, but you should also turn left sometimes.

When he puts that drive around pop up tent platform kit thing on top with the horizontal shade roller on one side and the black PVC pipe shower on the other side with all the red plastic traction thingamabobbers bunjied down the flanks along with collapsible shovel and roof-top bar of searchlights and snorkel attachment we will have reached a piece worthy of the smithsonian

Please don't revoke my passport, but F1 and Rally are on a whole other level. But Cartman has a point, too.

NHRA is way more patriotic than NASCAR.

Maybe I'll get the opportunity to rejoin the NWDRA...
