Bummer, but glad you got to see it in May. You have a definite latitude advantage on us but easier for us to get away from city lights. Barring a Carrington Event level CME that could nuke us back to the stone age, I'm hoping to get more chances to see it in it's full glory.We traded; I got sick and crashed the heck out last night, but I stayed up late 2 nights in a row in May gawking at the sky, and got a real good taste of it then.
I read the sun may be at or near the solar maximum and we might expect more solar storm activity in the next couple years as a result of the Sun’s north and south poles switching.
Not to go too far off topic, but my bucket list includes the Lofoten Islands in Norway where my Grandfather was born. Hamnøy, the "cold black rock" he never wanted to go back to, would be incredible - but I'd rather go in summer. Definitely bringing a 12wt for big coalfish (basically the "tuna" of the codfish family).
