American Made Flyrods

Tradition, or something.
Any positive comments?
Yeah, I love their rods, and have for a long time. Got my first one in '86, and still fish it from time to time. One of my all time favorite two handed rods was the original 1307. I bought a Contact 2 1094 last summer, and it's the most versatile rod I own. The 1092 will be one of the next I purchase, as well as both the 1163 and a 1267. So yeah 👍

I believe the Lamson higher end reels are made in the US . I know the Liquid ,and Remix are not . But I have both their high end ,and the Liquid ,and IMO they are great Reels . For the money you can't beat the Remix or the Liquid .
From what I can see online, the Liquid is assembled in the US, and Remix says fully made in the US. They do seem to be the lowest price for US-made (or at least assembled) reels.

Same.
I have an HS 10 wght and 8'6" 4wght build. Great rods. I have sold a couple, one of which I bought from Scoones years ago.
Really was hoping the company had a full display of their current graphite line, like to pick up another light wght trout rod but unfortunately they didn't.

It's one of my pet peeves.

"Made in Australia" is a big thing, back home, and it's almost always the wrong thing to do. Drives me nuts.

Did you know there are rice farms in Australia?

Home grown Aussie nuclear submarines coming soon as well.

Anyway, I like made in Colorado Scott fly rods and multi-sourced Loomis fly rods. Lots of good choices these days.

Why do you think some rod companies that are usa brand (built in usa) are way behind on repairs? Most components come from somewhere other than USA. With supply lines being weakened that last couple of years it’s kinda easy to figure out.

But, oh there always a but, Sage is not going to be the company you got to know in the 90’s-00’s-10’s. Has the great musical poet said ‘Times They Are A Changing’
But I’m not ready to criticize what I don’t understand…..good words to live by mho.

So all usa built or a usa built with ?

Organic or semi organic or organic by government definition?

Green or Green by government definition.
Sorry for this post but I leave it.

Prefer Wright and McGill Granger days….

Where does bamboo for flyrods come from?

They both have the same spool , so I just thought both were made overseas , at least the parts . The liquid is all cast , the remix the frame is machined .

My understanding of Lamson products is that all the cast parts are imported. The machined parts and the drag system are made in the US. The design and the reel assembly are done in the US.
All my fly reels are Lamson...from the fully cast Liquid to the fully machined iterations of the Guru model.
I use the Liquids from shore in the salt for coho, kings & chum. I beat them up but rinse them off after every outing. They have held up remarkably well! I use the large, full caged machined Guru's for my freshwater steelhead/salmon fishing.
For a "US product", it is hard to beat the price point of a Lamson reel.
In 7 years I have had only one problem with a Lamson reel. The screw-in drag cover for the cage spindle stuck to the spool of a Guru. As I was stripping out line the spool came out of the cage. I was waist deep in a bouldery run on the Sol Duc with 60' of line downstream. I quickly bent down up to my neck in the water to grab my spool but the drag and bearings were lost. Waded in and was able to retrieve running line, head, sink tip, leader and fly without loosing it in the boulders. I called Lamson later that day. They talked me through what I needed to do when the replacement parts arrived 2 days later at my home...free of charge!
I always prefer to buy American but understand in the world economy that not all parts are American manufactured.
Echo is a company I support for my 2-hand game. I have some angst over the fact that their rods are not US manufactured. I temper my angst with the knowledge that they are American designed and Echo is an American company. Like Lamson reels, you can't beat the price point of an Echo 2-hand rod. I don't have the casting skills to justify or the desire to fork over $1K+ on a 2-hand rod that I only use for a short time of the fishing season. I beat up my Echo 2-hand rods bushwacking through the rain forest understory but have not had a single issue with an Echo rod.
I have a Sage Foundation SH I use for chum and a Sonic SH I use for coho. 4 seasons for the Foundation and going on 3 seasons with the Sonic. I rise them off after every use in the salt. I have not had a problem with either rod so have yet to experience Sage customer service. Sage rods are made in the same county where I live.

Tibor
They make all their pieces, including the screws. I’m sure the cork is imported…
Tibors not the unicorn. They say “%100 American made with the exception of the ball bearings”. I don’t think the people at tibor understand what %100 means.😂
Still love their reels though.
