SFR AI imagining...it's fun!

Sorta fishing-related
I am no artist, but it looks like AI will soon make artists a thing of the past.
Not at all.. it's all digital atm. Real art takes creativity and passion.. AI can take something and manipulate it. If you describe something in detail it may create it the way you envision, but probably not on the first try!

Real painters 🎨, wood careers, knitters, sculpture artists and even cooks have creativity AI doesn't have and will probably never have. Until Skynet becomes aware! Then we're fucked!! 😆

Wow! What a thread. First.. I will state that being annoying is not my shtick. Secondly I will quote this "A true artist doesn’t sell out". IMHO most commercial artists (real artists) have to "sell out" to pay their bills.... but, IMHO, most of them envy the TRUE artists... that truly create (and teach!).... Free from the art director that was hired by Qualcomm to create an image of a cell phone.

The key for me has been to separate my creative job from my art and not rely on selling my art. It is by far the most unpleasant aspect.Bartering your value… is particularly unpleasant.

I spent much effort in finding and photographing rock art. One of my favorite books is

The Forgotten Artist: Indians of Anza-Borrego and Their Rock Art

I've sat in many caves with a Nikon and a tripod..using the film, lenses and filters to capture what was left of these works from the "Forgotten Artist". Perhaps my study of these ancient images (made so long ago), has me captivated by the modern imaging technology.

Post #262 is a very powerful image..sincerely
But my OP was about making fun images with this new fangled AI crap. It's been a rollercoaster thread...I like that.

Trout playing hockey... less than a minute.....I'm trying to make the point that this CAN be fun and it can be whimsical. IMHO those are good things.unnamed-28.jpg

Just imagine the time and effort that a true artist would have to invest in an image like this. It took less than a minute after I verbally "described" the image I wanted.. off the top of my head, first and only try.
Look at the beer bottle labels.... look at his shirt.... notice his girlfriend is passed out underneath him...I had no input to any of these "inclusions".
Personally I find this equally fun ..and equally frightening. But I like that.unnamed-27.jpg

Hooked ALE? Ruffles chip bags?....Finney Brew? Lunker Lager.?.. Lunker League?
Folks I had no part in any of that, I just made a very simple request for an image.

And my rudimentary attempts at AI imaging are just that. Extremely rudimentary. I am intentionally showing what can be done in just a few minutes, from someone that does not know what they are doing. I like to make fun images....Try it ..it's fun.

Ernie stated this..unnamed-29.jpg "It’s probably fun because it brings a vicarious experience."..... That is Exactly the point (for me) of this thread. Imagine any image..describe it to Gemini ..within two minutes an image appears. The above is the instant result ..I could tweak it, work on it and improve it..... but it is "good enough" for just a short blast of joyfulness.

At a Sotheby’s auction in 2024, versions of the art work "Comedian" (google Comedian artwork) sold for over $6 million — one sale hit $6.2 million. This was literally a banana duck taped to the wall. Some would say this was "true" art... And pay 6 million for it! The art world is wild.
With the advent of AI, I can simply have some fun with it...I'm only asking $5 million for this piece.... But copyright infringement could be an issue...unnamed-30.jpg
