I don't know why but that second fish pic cracks me up. Looks like he's going to throw it over the middle.

None seen, and my head was on a swivel after last April. Just a couple unidentified lizards which were much too quick for me to get a decent look.
Sandhill crane auto-rec engaged when a flock flew over in V-formation. Heard them, couldn’t locate them, took a minute to re-cast before I was able to see them.
On the drive and at the lake today, I must’ve seen two dozen ravens, frequently paired up.
I really appreciated the change of scenery and chance to pull on some fish. I got an indi bite pretty dialed for an hour or so; it was bobber down nearly every cast along a whole nice chunk of shoreline that I had all to myself.
Besides me soiling my pants....what do you do if one approaches you while in a float tube (me...not the snake)? Whack it with the rod tip?
Hit it with the 50 cal machine gun. Teach it a lesson, and his friends like him too.
If you miss, and likely you will, the recoil will scoot you away from the threat pretty quick.

Yah it makes the hike kind of a PITA but being able to put ordinance on target is a must in the seep lakes. You can modify to launch cans of busch light to drive off the crawdad divin mamas if you're in soap lake.
Pro tip: If you only fish in near-freezing conditions, the critters are less likely to set up ambushes. And your Busch Light stays cold all day.

Damn near felt like July after that
I call it over and invite it up on my boat to hang. They almost always feel weirded out by my advances and decline to join, that’s when I get a bit more aggressive. I’ll chase them down and either net them so I can pet them, or I’ll hook them with my fly and hit them with a stick. This may or may not be a true story.
