
Took my 8' Phillipson Peerless 5 weight (thanks @rudyc) , an intermediate line and old school wet flies (black gnat, professor, grizzly king) to a well known lake in the North Cascades.

There was a large midge hatch (see picture below), some flying termites and a few callibaetis...

You could see the fish cruising in the clear water. The cutts had olive/turquoise backs which matched the lake. That's an old school size 14 professor in the jaw. Black Gnats and Grizzly Kings also worked well.

My friend wasn't having much luck fishing the middle of the lake. "Cast to the bank," I said. He did and this happened...
