A new world record... my favorite driving band

Kzok. Kisw….. and of course ‘The End’ which was first on am radio and introduce bands like Flock of Seagulls, Adam Ant, Level 42, DEVO, Depeche Mode, etc.

You guys obviously have a great local station for new music in KEXP. I listen to the Current out of Minneapolis for a lot of that too.

If you want to connect with folks who are passionate about 80s and 90s new wave and post punk, djs Jake Rudh and Synthia do weekly shows on Twitch with music and videos. Cool folks in the chat too.

Long ago I bought the CD soundtrack to The Good The Bad and the Ugly movie and kept in the the car for road trips.

A few times when going to fish the Grand Ronde I would cue up this track once I got about half way down the Hwy 123 Rattlesnake grade. It was perfect for scenery and the building anticipation of getting to the river after a six hour drive as I wound down towards the bottom.

So, I was raised in a house that lived music. Mom played the piano (church and classical) and dad played drums and trumpet (always wanted to be a conductor). Dad built custom cabinets in the living room with specific spots for speakers, then he would stand in the middle of the room and conduct to albums spinning on the turn table. And when mom had had enough he had BIG headphones with extention cord so he could move freely. He always had classical music but also a lot of sound track albums (always Henery Mancini) so I was exposed to all kinds of music!

And since I LOLED westerns Clint was great...


My wife hates when I say "who's that" when a song comes on our i here a great song while we're at a restaurant... haha

And my "homemade" tape was taping Lynyard Skymyrd, because my best friend and I knew exactly where to start the tape and rock out to Free Bird and have it finish as we pulled into the parking lot due a day of skiing at Crystal!!! Some AWESOME days!
