I've got a handful of stuff I raided from my dad's stash who most likely raided it from my grandpa's stash...

I can't tell if this is dad's hand writing or my grandpa's but it's old and most likely from the upstate New York area. It sat in my dubbing box for a long time before I recently looked at it closely again and I'm glad I did.It's some sort of perfectly blended hares ear with a super fine soft synthetic. It's got a translucency about it I can't put my finger on but gosh it looks good wet. I certainly love simi seal and similar synthetic material but this is so soft and fluffy.

Just thought my fellow lake nuts would enjoy

Whew! When I saw the thread title I thought you had tied a size 24 fly…. For bass? Looks like a great find. I tie something similar but it doesn’t have the same pedigree. Could be real seal at that age (I’m guessing but you said it’s old).
