I tend to give him the benefit of the doubt because he's filing this lawsuit KNOWING that he's likely not going to work in the NFL ever gain. Seems like you don't do that if you aren't sure of yourself.I just can't help but feel this doesn't end up going well for Flores.
Not to downplay the racial aspect, but I think the reason that the tanking thing gets so much play is that it risks a LOT of money/damage for the league due to the gambling aspect. Ross could pay Flores 100k to tank and them make double that with a few bets against his own team. Even the perception of the fix being in is going to be a nightmare for the league. There's a reason Pete Rose won't ever be allowed back in baseball.Tanking has been known about for a long time. It seems like it's become the lead story now that someone sued the league over blatant racist hiring practices. Seems like buying the lead to me.
Even if there is straight up racism in hiring, the NFL knows that it isn't losing them money since it's been there for decades. Causing problems with newly legalized sports gambling or the associated huge sponsorships is likely to be something that the owners care about far more. Reprehensible perhaps, but I suspect sadly true.
