100+ degree day carp

I'm one who prefers A/C when it's over 90... or 80 for that matter. But my buddy hit me up at 1pm yesterday to see if I wanted to go carping. I decided to go for it.

We fished a section of the Columbia not far from the metro area I reside in. Carp were VERY abundant. (if you can zoom in, you can see all of them hanging around that weed line).

The ones hanging around that weed line ended up being our players. Cast over the weed line, strip strip, then let it drop right at the edge of the weeds. These hangry bois would dip down and vacuum it up!

The heat ended up not being as big a factor as I anticipated, but the wind made it tough to fish many other spots so we stopped after about 2hrs. Still very worth the trip!

Quality work with the drone shot

Yeah our forum reports don't get too many drone shots. It might be kind of "whatever" in the Drake but I'm stoked to see it here. (y)

I have to admit I have never caught a carp. Hooked a couple targeting other species, but did not land them.

That’s a great day. Did a similar trip on Friday, but on foot. I don’t trust my drifter and trolling motor at these flows. Gotta get a real outboard one of these days.
