    Comparisons

I've seen some of the Realistic Flies for sale and read some comparisons to regular flies. Price being much higher with reports that they're no more effective than a regular fly has me wondering if they're worth trying. Any opinions on the subject..?

    Float Tube Air Pressure

I've got a Sea Eagle STS10 using an electric trolling motor for getting around. How critical is it to use a pressure gauge to confirm air pressure, it requires 3.2 psi..? Will it be sufficient just to check the pressure by touching it for firmness..?

Looking for an Illustrated Book of Flies

Is that just a trout fly tying book or does it have a listing of flies..? I did a search and didn't see any pics of the inside pages. I've got a few books on fly tying from Orvis but they only describe how to tie select flies..

    Washington-Seattle area tolls

Speaking of toll roads, I've heard that Michigan and Detroit are discussing bringing in tolls to cover road repairs. Conditions of the roads now are so bad that you need to be careful of throwing out your alignment or blowing out a tire. No word on what rates they're planning to introduce. I...

Where to buy 3-Piece Rod Tube

If you're not fussy on aesthetics, buy a length of PVC pipe to suit in either 1 1/2" or 2" Sch 40 with 2 end caps. Glue one end cap in place and leave the other end loose. Caps fit snuggly so they won't fall off under most conditions. Makes for a solid, cheap rod tube..
