Ford vs Chevy vs Dodge - but with fly rods...

in my quick check - sounds like many complaints about slow shipping and extremely poor customer service experience (some very good reviews as well to be fair).

Ford vs Chevy vs Dodge - but with fly rods...

Been a while - but I've heard of these. Is it light weight, responsive, sensitive, and fast - without being a broom handle? Most days I love my 4 and 5wts in medium action - but lately i've been craving that laser beam I can use to zap pocket water quickly or punch accurately into the wind -...

Ford vs Chevy vs Dodge - but with fly rods...

yeah, I have many rods with medium to medium fast action in 4-5wt. I want just one actual fast action rod that stands out from the others.

Strange, weird or odd or whatever beach finds thread….

Found this on a beach in the south sound back in the early 80s. Held on it all these years hoping to figure it out. Recently posted it to a site that deals with fossils - the consensus was: Bison Tooth.

Ford vs Chevy vs Dodge - but with fly rods...

I'm finally treating myself to a higher (for me) quality rod. I just ordered a new Echo Trout X and after 2 lawn casting sessions - decided I don't care for it. I want to LOVE it and notice a difference between that and my lower end rods. Obviously the trout x isn't high end, but it is...

    Rod storage

I like to see and handle the merchandise.... I don't have tunes for everything either. So I have a few travel cases for rod + reel I grab when heading out if needed. Some local outings I just grab a few rods and put them in my truck bed.

    The crux of it...

Haven't decided yet. Have 2 old medalist reels that would work, but I have a craving for a more modern machined aluminum reel for this rod.

    The original knife thread.

I love show and tell. I've collected many over the years. Most are nothing special, but a few are sentimental. My grandpa's old fillet knife is one. The deer handle knife made by a local guy that was an anniversary present. My Swiss army knife a client gave me as company swag about 30 years...

    Sourdough

About once a year someone in one of my local facebook neighborhood groups posts and asks about sourdough starter. I always (just can't help it) ask if anyone has any Indian naan bread starter. Someone always bites... "you don't need a starter for indian naan bread.". My response, "oh, so it's...

    The crux of it...

Redington Crux rods - considering getting one. But the reviews are all over the place. Anyone here have any actual hands on experience with one? I'm in the market for a 5wt fast action rod. I found a great deal on a Crux, but the reviews are confusing.

    Taking down animals

Turtles are actually quite fast. They would beat any of us in a short sprint on flat terrain. Tortoises and box turtles are pretty slow. But my 60lb sulcata tortoise used to sneak up on me while working in the yard...and once it was within a foot or 2, would try and ram me. It could move...

    Taking down animals

I've faced off with, wrestled, wrangled and sometimes killed more than my far share of animals. Charging herd of brahmas Crazed cow trying to break down her pen after getting spooked by a bear As a vet assistant in college - huge young great Dane needing eye drops, crazy cats refusing to take...

Another reason why C&R is a good practice

Yes, and over 90% of this ocean pollution can be attributed to just a handful of rivers in just a few countries in Asia and Africa. Our politicians (and researchers depending on their money) always want to discuss these topics as the highest level (world) and then start discussing 'solutions'...
