I caught 3 late summer steelhead from the same hole in the same small river while fishing for salmon. There were kings, coho, and even chums in the hole at various times. I will say that the steelhead seemed to be mostly at the back of the pack, lending some credence to the "pecking order"...

I haven't had many good opportunities to get after them with flies (they haven't been moving much through the low water so far), but I have had solid jig and spinner fishing in sneaky spots. I think a lot of fish are yet to come. Need rain. Thing is, we're just about to the point in the season...
