Any tips on MA13 staging estuary coho? There's lots of them!

I have had some success with a small Hotshot that rattles, a red and white color scheme. Hold on the strikes are vicious and be sure to change out the factory hook with a Gamagatsu siwash. This is a hit and miss thing but if they are somewhat inclined this seems to irritate the hell out of...

    Oh What the Heck!

It has been two years since I have gotten out and I am not particularly amused. Issues with shoulders and legs that I will leaves right there. The Yak has dropped to some really nice flows and what the hell, my shoulders hurt like hell and my legs will only carry me about 200 yards just the...

    Another leaky wader situation

Salmo, You can get that spray sealant and some gorilla tape. I am just about ready to do that to my waders. I just can't figure out if I tape first and then spray the sealant or vice versa. Those inside leg seams would require enough Aqua Seal that would buy a new set of waders out right. Dave

    Another leaky wader situation

Salmo, Bi-Mart in Ellensburg has Allan waders for sale from around $100 to about $150. Haven't tried them out but they look OK and price is right even if the bottom end ones only last a little over a year. Come on over and you can use my card (worth $5.00) for a life time. Dave

    Something Needs to Change.

Salmo I have thought about how to reply as I really do get it. MSH does not work and that is self-evident. Instead of managing for maximum harvest I want the escapement of fish equal to or slightly more than capacity. With a downward sliding scale every year the runs keep diminishing. Yes...

    Anchoring in the Skagit

new spark plugs, fuel filter, basic tool kit (pliers, screw drivers. Phillips, crescent wrench. really good tape. starter rope, spark plug socket and anything else that you think you may need tool wise. Throw in a road flare or two in that if for some reason you need to make a fire they work...

    Something Needs to Change.

The past is the past but we can improve habitat and better manage fish runs for maximum returns to rivers. That is what I am advocating rather than the status quo with the excuses. I want maximum numbers of fish on redds verse maximum fish in nets. I think that is very basic. Dave Dave

    Outboard motor ride height?

Being lower it may tend to lift the bow quicker on Excelleration if I am visualizing correctly Which could become an issue if dropping the hammer. Dave

    Something Needs to Change.

The numbers harvested should be based on the carrying capacity of a system and not some pulled out of the formula that over estimates run size every year and the geniuses can't seem to figure out how to grind out a better number. Nor does it seem that they can. allow escapement to be met...

    Something Needs to Change.

Salmo G I for the most part agree with your comments but with one exception. Your background speaks for itself and I am not intending to dismiss that. Just because MSH is rooted in scientific concept does not automatically make it correct. Actually it has proven the concept wrong and or the...

    Something Needs to Change.

WDFW's policy for many years if there is a larger than expected run of fish has been to allow either a roe fishery or an all out commercial/tribal fishery based on a number of days rather than on take of fish. One striking example is several years ago a bonus number of chum showed up bound for...

    Must Watch This !!

Her was probably doing what most men are doing when they fall out of the boat, and his fly was probably un-zipped. Just ask the Coast Guard about that in that they actually have records regarding such things. Dave

This rifle is of the 70's era and the trigger was just wore out. I think you are thinking of some runs around the early 2000's that had some bad triggers and Remington replaced at no charge. At some point in time and use all triggers will wear out. Dave

My Remington 700 was in need of a new trigger and safety. So I took it into REHV Arms here in Ellensburg this morning and told maybe 4 weeks as they were busy in the shop. At 5 PM I get a call, your rifle is ready to pick up. Outstanding service and the price was decent and more than fair. Dave
