    Quick trip to the lake.

It is. We should plan a trip there some time. I’ll leave the dog at home.

    Quick trip to the lake.

Yes. All my dogs have been good partners in the boat. I think the key is starting them young. They all get the float/dunk test before the life jacket comes off for good (in lakes).

    Quick trip to the lake.

Following this path lead me to some fun fishing. Lilly pad patches provided the most action. I’m pretty sure this Crappie has never been licked by a dog before. The big fish of the day was caught on a small jig bait fish pattern.

    FABs (foam arse blob)

I’ve found FAB’s to be ridiculously effective on a type 6 full sink. My Cheat Code FAB-

    Merrill Lake update

This was from DNR- "The culvert has to be manufactured and concrete footing designed and built. This is all moving forward, but at this point a definitive start isn’t totally clear. There could be some materials hauled on site in June to prep for construction, specifically rock. The schedule...

    Two Fly Question

You should add a number 4 option- -4. I start with 2 flies, they get tangled multiple times, I finally get frustrated enough and just go back to using 1 fly. 😂

    A Hidden Gem

It’s always good to hear there are still hidden gems out there. There’s a lake in my area that’s well off the beaten path. It is supposed to have large trout. I’m on the fence on whether to put the effort into checking it out. I kind of like the idea there are hidden gems with large fish out...

    Pike Minnow Season Opening

I have a good time fishing off the bank below Bonneville in the fall. Pikeminnow are one of the most resilient fish in the river and they are very good at what they do.

    A juxtaposition

Anglers that use the Turtle Box to blast music while fishing, are probably really into competition fly fishing and use forward facing radar 🙃.

    A juxtaposition

I saw this in a issue of Fly Fisherman Magazine. I thought the page placement was interesting. Blasting your favorite tunes on one page and “Quiet Waters” on the next page😁. I’m not judging either. To each their own🤙.

    Late March lakes trip

Great report. I have heard of tipping your hook with corn and maggots. This is new to me😁-

Nice spring day at the lake.

Lack of rods was not the reason for a lack of fish.

    Wanted Hareline Pearl Diamond Braid

Have you tried Lagartun flatbraid. It is more supple than most flat braids.

Unusual bycatch at the lake. Dog days of winter.

Calm weather made for a nice cruise to the far end of the lake. The fishing started off good. About an hour in I hooked an unusual bycatch. Nothing like trying to wrangle a hook out of the nose, of a p’d off Husky. He took cover the rest of the day. It was a good day with lots of nice...
