Who says muskies are invasive?

Who knew!?

I guess we should get them back in their native range. 🤷‍♂️

Clarkman vs. U.S., BPA et al

I can see it now

WDFW hatchery Muskie stocking mandated by the Feds...along with Beaver.
😁

Could sell it as saving salmonids by eating all those pikeminnow....

Just need to find some bones in an old midden...

I know this is all in jest, but just to keep the record straight, extant nowadays muskies are native throughout parts North America but ARE INVASSIVE in the PNW.

From the reach museum in Richland. Muskie fossil from the Ringold flow geological period.View attachment 187205
Esox columbianus is an extinct species, extinct for more than 2 million years.
Yes, tiger muskie are known to be indigenous to all PNW waters. Everyone knows that.
Tiger muskies are a man-made hybrid, not indigenous.

I know, I am a hoot! Just trying to discourage any unsuspecting potential bucket biologist out there, we have enough trouble with invasive fish species, we covered some of it recently:

Yeah it was in jest because the tiger muskies are sterile hybrids. If anyone isn't aware of that, hope they learned something today 😂

We can just use amphibian DNA to fill in the missing pieces so we can bring them back....or something like that...heard that somewhere.

fair point. and yes, that is a huge problem, which, once established, they'll be incredibly difficult to remove and will reek havoc on the native populations, which, since there are so few salmonids left anyway, they'll probably move on to other native fish like pikeminnow and suckers... 👆

That's what they want you to think, because that's what their reptilian overlords want.
